About Me
Hi, I am Deniyi Olashore. I am a 27 year old product designer based in London that graduated from Central Saint Martins. Since I was young I have had a huge passion for products, the way they work and the way one product can appeal to so many people from different walks of life. Originally, I wanted to be a mechanical engineer but decided that designing was more for me as I found the Aesthetics and Ergonomics of a product more interesting than the Engineering aspect of it. Don't get me wrong, I still build and prototype but designing is more enjoyable.
The perfect balance between practicality and aesthetics is something that I strive to achieve every time I design and create a product. When I first started designing, I realised that I sacrificed the practicality of a product for the way it looked and this turned out to be disastrous. My client feedback showed that people liked the way the product looked because of the originality and form, but they might not buy it because of practicality issues. With my current products, while I still believe in the theory that function follows form, I try and take a more rounded approach that allows me to develop a product that is durable and stable but also very aesthetically pleasing because how a product looks will always determine if it is purchased or not.
I am a keen sportsman and play rugby for a local club. I also play football and squash during my free time and have recently found a love for running. I am a keen Photographer and take on personal projects with many different people, some of which can be seen in the photography section.
This website is just a simple way of me showcasing my work and interests to potential employers, clients and friends.
